About us

We are hosts who got tired of guessing.

An independent review desk run by people who host for a living.

Appalachian Host Standard is a small, independent review desk. Tool pages and manager pitches promise plenty — so we buy the tools, run them on real bookings, and report back plainly.

The rules we hold ourselves to

  • Tested, not guessed. A tool we have not run on a real calendar simply stays unrated.
  • Independence first. No budget moves a brand one row up — the editorial policy is the contract.
  • Plain language. We write like we talk at a turnover: plainly, and to the point.

What we cover

The site covers the two ways out of the same problem — 24 management companies reviewed and ranked for those who delegate, and 24 host tools reviewed and ranked for those who automate. Each review lays out the provider’s own published facts — fees or pricing, markets, scale, PMS requirements — and where a figure is not public, the page says “not published” instead of guessing.

Where the money comes from

No ads run here, no affiliate links pay us, and no placement is for sale — a position or a score cannot be bought at any price. A recommendation here is editorial judgement and nothing else — the reasoning lives in our editorial policy.

The honest limits

This is a review desk — not a brokerage, a law office or an accounting firm. Ratings are informed opinion, prices move faster than any publication, and your market has its own physics — verify current terms with the provider and read the disclaimer.

Where we are
